HOW MANY BEERS ARE IN A KEG?
It depends on the size of the keg and the size of the beer you pour. Here is a handy dandy table to help you out. Also, for planning purposes, figure about 50 people/keg (at about 3 beers each). Adjust the number/size of kegs to the needs of your party, the drinking capacity of your party attendees, and whether or not you have other adult beverages involved.
Keg Size | Gallons | Liters | Beers | Pints |
---|---|---|---|---|
1/2 Barrel (Std) | 15.5 | 58.67 | 165 | 124 |
1/4 Barrel (Pony) | 7.75 | 29.34 | 83 | 62 |
1/6 Barrel | 5.17 | 19.57 | 55 | 41 |
Euro (Std) | 13.21 | 50 | 140 | 105 |
Euro (Pony) | 5.28 | 20 | 56 | 42 |
BTW, a full, full-size keg weighs 165 lbs (about 80 kilograms), so be careful. Can you believe they used to sell kegs by the barrel (about 300 lbs)?
WHAT DO I NEED TO GET A KEG AT JUNIORS?
Well, the short answer is cash and a valid Texas driver’s license or identification card. If you are paying by credit card or check, the name needs to match your valid identification. You of course, also need to be 21 years of age.
If you need a tap and tub, we can set you up with that, too — no charge! All you have to do is leave us a deposit for the gear you borrow.
Remember, it’s always best to have a reservation for the keg you want.
DO I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR A TAP AND TUB (TRASH CAN) WITH MY KEG PURCHASE?
No, unlike many other places, we don’t charge extra for you to borrow our gear (tap, tub, keg shell). All we ask is that you leave us a deposit for the gear. When you bring the gear back a few days later, we give you your deposit back. It’s that simple.
If you don’t bring the gear back within a few days, we’ll collect the deposit. We’d certainly rather not do that, but we need to use the gear for the next keg purchase, and the gear is expensive.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO RETURN THE TAP, TUB (TRASH CAN), AND KEG SHELL?
We give you three days to return the gear you borrowed from us (by leaving a deposit). If you haven’t returned it by then or contacted us to let us know you need the gear longer, we’ll charge the deposit you left with us.
We’d rather have our gear back than charge you the deposit! We need the gear for others to enjoy their kegs, and the gear is expensive. The breweries need the shells back to clean and refill. All we ask is that you return it timely; we don’t actually charge you for its use (if you buy the keg from us).
WHAT IF I HAVE A KEGERATOR?
If you have a keg shell, bring it with you and you will not be charged the keg deposit fee. All keg deposits are same regardless of size (1/6, 1/4 and 1/2 barrels are all $50). If it is your first time with a kegerator you will be charged the shell deposit up front then you have a shell to change out each time you get more beer.
